Product Review: Adidas Elite Sock

As if a pair of shin guards wasn't enough, I was also given the opportunity to review a pair of Adidas football socks from the American based retailer SoccerPro.com.

After browsing through their comprehensive socks section (British sports retailers take note) I came across a pair of Adidas Elite socks.

Complete with the classic black and white design which Adidas are famed for, and which the likes of David Beckham have evidently helped to promote to good effect over the last five or so years, I decided to take the plunge and go for a pair of sports socks I was certain would bring a degree of comfort whilst playing football.

Although a humble pair of socks may not initially seem like the most important component in helping a player to perform at the peak of their game, comfort is crucial, and the Adidas Elite socks slipped on with ease. They were an ideal length, and didn't give off the same feeling as a traditional football sock, the type which end up leaving red patterns on thousands of Sunday League footballers legs each weekend as a result of the cheap material they're made of.

I had no problem running in them during five-a-side, and they held my shin guards in place perfectly.

To put it simply, when it comes to the ultimate football sock, there's no beating the Adidas Elite. I've no doubt this particular pair will last me for many more seasons to come, and when they eventually become worn out, I know I'll have to look no further for the only suitable replacement.
