As a University student, there was a period earlier in the year when I decided that growing my hair would be worth trying out. After all, I wouldn't get away with it in the real world. So, the third and final product I recieved from SoccerPro.com was a set of men's Nike Wide Sport BandsAs the leigons of footballers with flowing locks will testify, playing the game with long hair is not exactly a match made in heaven. In fact, it's usually quite the opposite, and every five seconds you're left flicking this hair out of your face, brushing it all to one side until you end up looking rather ridiculous.
The Sport Bands - located in the Soccer Accessories section of SoccerPro.com - I decided to review would hopefully stop all that, and allow me to concentrate fully on the football.
When the bands arrived, they were nicely presented and came in a range of colours. A pack for men and a pack for women both arrived, and the colours were clearly defined which gave the bands a professional feel.
The bands were elasticated enough to fit a variety of head sizes, but as I tried them on for the first time, I realised - not to my surprise either - that I looked even more ridiculous with the head bands on.
Although they had the desired effect - keeping my hair from getting in my eyes - I feel they suit the likes of Berbatov and Drogba rather more than me.
These Nike bands are undoubtedly of high quality, and if I had long, slick, versatile hair I would be able to wear them with pride, but unfortunately, I do not.
Maybe English people were never designed to wear head bands, not like the South Americans or Italians were.
After checking myself out in the mirror, I decided that I couldn't wear the head bands at five-a-side, and would simply get my hair cut.
Job done.
